Dennis joined Wilson & Associates back in 2006 as a design developer  and with his previous F&B experience and tenure at TCA Asia (Tony Chi Associates ) was placed under a studio setup within WA named Blueplate. ( a brainchild of Trisha Wilson  )

 

Blueplate Studios' key function was to value add to Hotel projects' F&B segment within each project designated to the various design directors / studios in WA

and to provide creative muscle to hotel operators & developers alike. 

As a specialty studio, BP took on most of the F&B components within the hotel operator's area program collaborating with design directors in each studio within Wilson Associates project by project. Given this, BP was involved in not less than 20-30 hotel projects at different phases with 5-6 different directors at a given stage. That being said we occasionally took on full scope smaller boutique hotels like the successful Holiday-Inn Xpress Singapore.

 

Fast forward in 2011 Dennis was made design director and took full responsibilities over the studio for day to day activities, business P&L etc. Leading a studio setup of no less than 15 -20 designers at a given stage, Dennis’ 11 years tenure in Wilson & Associates, BP had accumulated current & completed over 40 Hotels with 100 F&B outlets & various spaces. Prior to his tenure & experience at Wilson & Associates, Dennis’ working experience besides Hospitality ranges from Residential to Commercial design & Exhibitions. with various design firms in Singapore and across Asia in a 25 year career span.

 

A key highlight of his career was a 2-time nomination & finalist for the 34th and 39th IHMR Gold Key awards for Best Resort & Best Hotel Upscale categories

in which he & his team designed & completed the F&B areas.

 

Dennis Tan now collaborates with ASDA design on selected F&B projects.
