"Reimagining a Childhood Home: A 1960s Colonial House Transformed for Modern Living"
This home, a 1960s Black and White colonial house in Singapore, blends the past and present with timeless elegance. For the wife, it's a cherished childhood home, now reimagined for her own family of four. The original red brick walls and French windows and doors are preserved as a tribute to the house's history, while the design adds rustic sophistication—an enduring blend of classic black and white with natural textures and earthy tones.
The intention is not just to preserve, but to elevate. The house’s original design is maintained, with black and white color scheme remains a defining feature, a classic palette that echoes through the home, while the richness of natural textures and earthy tones are introduced to add depth and warmth. We have added a 2nd floor to accommodate the growing family. The home will have the rustic charm of well-lived spaces—light, open, airy—but layered with contemporary sensibilities and elegance.
